Kimba is hosting a new community driven art workshop with social enterprise ‘Make Your Own Shift’ next door to the Castle Climbing Centre in Stoke Newington, London.

With this workshop we are focused on community projects and creating affordable skill sharing, so we’re hosting this bespoke Lino-cutting workshop on a donation basis only! You pay a deposit of £10 online and if you can afford it a suggested additional donation between £10-20 on the day. Join Natalie Winter, artist and designer of Fairtrade and organic clothing in this introductory class of Lino-cutting.

Being based in the London Borough of Hackney, Kimba wanted to share ideas and knowledge with local communities and offer affordable art workshops focused on building connections, making art accessible!

MYOShift are a collection of architects, activists, designers, makers and doers who believe space that houses free, collective expression and the sharing of knowledge is central for communities to thrive and adapt.

 

WHAT DOES THE WORKSHOP INVOLVE?

The workshop includes Lino-Cutting onto a garment you bring in. Please bring one piece of clothing you wish to print on. This can be a jumper, top, scarf, socks, and any length of fabric of up to 1 metre. The fabric can be cotton, wool, denim, linen or anything similar.  You will understand how to cut lino correctly, using various colours for printing, creating a playful aesthetic unique to your style.

MATERIALS

Lino-cutting equipment, Lino, Fabric Ink, and refreshments will be provided.

Please bring one garment or fabric to print on.

Refreshments provided.

 Please note that we don’t send out physical tickets. The confirmation email is your e-ticket.

Due to the nature of the workshop, it’s over 18’s only at this time.

Class is limited to 10 people. £10 deposit per person and if you can afford it a suggested donation on the day of £10-20 that goes towards materials, our time and towards MYOS.

We expect this is fill fast so get booking as soon as possible!

 

Being a sustainable, small independent brand the workshops are non-refundable so please ensure you can make it.
